Sky Power Co. is a licensed electrical contractor (CSLB #1037507) in Sherman Oaks. We add, replace and repair outlets and switches in homes and businesses across Los Angeles, and we make sure every new device is installed to code.
What we do
- New outlets where you need them, including for TVs, desks and kitchen counters
- GFCI outlets for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, garages and outdoors
- Outdoor outlets with weatherproof covers
- USB outlets and tamper-resistant outlets
- Dimmers that work with LED lights without flicker
- Three-way switches, so a light can be turned on from two places
- Repair of outlets and switches that stopped working, feel warm or spark
When an outlet is not just an outlet
Replacing an outlet with the same type is usually simple. Adding a new outlet means checking the circuit: how much it already carries, whether the spot needs GFCI protection, and whether a heavy appliance such as a microwave, freezer or space heater needs its own dedicated circuit. We check this first so the new outlet does not overload the circuit.
An outlet stopped working?
First check whether a nearby GFCI outlet, the one with Test and Reset buttons, has tripped, and press Reset. Also check your panel for a tripped breaker. If the outlet still does not work, or if it is warm, discolored or sparks, stop using it and book a visit.

Questions and Answers
Can you add outlets, switches or GFCI outlets?
Yes. We add new outlets, switches and GFCI outlets and check that the circuit can handle the new load.
Can you put my new lights on a dimmer?
Yes. We install dimmers that work with LED fixtures without flicker.
An outlet stopped working. What should I check first?
Check whether a nearby GFCI outlet with Test and Reset buttons has tripped and press Reset, and check the panel for a tripped breaker. If it still does not work, we can book a visit.
My outlet is warm or sparks. What should I do?
Stop using it and unplug what is connected if it is safe. If you see smoke or fire, call 911. Then call us at (818) 588-1787.
How much does it cost to add an outlet?
It depends on where the outlet goes and which circuit can feed it. We give you the price after the visit, before any work starts. The visit is $135 during business hours and is waived if we do the work.
