Electrical work in Calabasas

Calabasas is its own city, not part of Los Angeles, so electrical permits are issued by the City of Calabasas Building and Safety Division, which accepts many permit applications through its online portal. Power is delivered by Southern California Edison (SCE), and Calabasas is a member of Clean Power Alliance, which supplies the energy over SCE lines. We pull the permit, schedule the city inspection and coordinate with SCE when a job needs a service change or a new meter.

Many Calabasas homes are in planned communities and hillside neighborhoods, often with large floor plans, outdoor living areas and long driveways. The most common jobs are panel and service upgrades for EV chargers and remodels, outdoor and landscape lighting, and backup power. In high-wind fire weather SCE can turn off power in high-risk areas to prevent fires, and parts of Calabasas are in those areas, so a generator or battery backup is a practical choice for many homes.

Urgent and after-hours visits are available for an additional fee.
